God's Providence in Colombia

Do you believe in the providence of God? Providence is a Christian belief in “God’s orchestrating all events and circumstances in the universe for His glory and the good of His people (Rom. 8:28).[1]

Sometimes we take that “good of His people” and define “good” according to our preferences. Getting a promotion is part of God’s providence, whereas a hurricane that destroys your home is not. But God’s providence stretches even to the bad things that happen, as the prayer request for the Ar people shows. A motorcycle accident and travel restrictions leads to an opportunity to step back from the hustle and bustle of ministry and to focus on becoming more effective in ministry through language acquisition.

Right now, the Ta people need a missionary to come and share with them the truth of God’s Word. Is this outside the providence of God? Or does is this lack occurring precisely because God intends to glorify Himself and bring good to His people?
AR OF COLOMBIA (ahr) - National missionary J fell on a return trip from the Ar community while on his motorcycle. He broke two ribs and has been unable to visit the Ar communities for the past several weeks. Since he cannot travel at this time, he and his wife, A, have begun the intensive process of learning the Ar language from their full-time language helper. Pray for this process, asking that they will have the ability to learn the language well and quickly.
CHA AND TA OF COLOMBIA (chah; tah) - The Ta people are asking for someone to come and teach them the Bible stories. Who will go? Pray for someone to respond to the request for a missionary to work among these people to teach them the stories.
